His fellow dragons suspect that XAU is part Mint Dragon, as his shyness is more characteristic of the Mint species than the Gold. He insists it is due to the attention he receives wherever he goes, claiming that life is difficult enough as a rare dragon, much less a rare Gold Dragon.

Still, he manages to hold his own well enough, carving out a secluded life with his mate, Goldilocks. Her good nature helps ease his fears when he is forced to become a part of a crowd, although he still hides wherever he can when confronted without her to comfort him.
