Cherri is a particularly stubborn Dark Green Dragon, who enjoys her own company much more than the presence of others, for the simple reason that she hardly ever argues with herself. She burrows deep into her lair, leaving her vines hanging above to catch a tasty morsel while she occupiers herself with reading and daydreaming. She is a very lonely dragon, but refuses to admit this to anyone, preferring to remain lonely above the thought of letting anyone into her life to share even a little part of it.
She values privacy above everything and has even been known to move thousands of miles away from her home in an effort to escape the life around her. The only company she enjoys is her next meal, which she talks to the entire time she is preparing her meal, and sometimes while she is eating it if the day has been lonely enough. She leaves her prey alive longer simply to see if it has any comments upon her conversation.
As a result she has a small field mouse she keeps locked up in the back of her lair, a potential meal who thus far contributes enough company to soothe Cherri's company. She talks to the mouse frequently, explaining dragon lore and complaining about the weather or the lack of food this evening. The mouse listens, contributing little to the conversation, but saying enough of the right words at the right time that he is permitted to live.
Cherri remains lonely, but refuses to admit it to anyone, even herself. Some day, perhaps, she may confront this loneliness and conquer her fears of others, but for now she remains hidden away, tucked inside her private and safe den, waiting for food and talking of the weather.
